This handsome, purebred 10-year-old yellow Lab is looking for love in all the right places. Hoover has been someone’s best friend since he was 6 weeks old, but the gentleman is moving to assisted living and Hoover cannot go with him. Hoover gets along with everyone: He is currently in a foster home with two other dogs who can snuggle in with him, and he ignores the cats. He loves all people. Like many Labs, Hoover also loves food (thus his name) and he is on a diet and exercise plan to trim 20 pounds. The extra weight is stressing an old leg injury, so for his best interests we are seeking a home who will commit to steadily helping him trim down. He also does best right now on carpeted floors and one-level living. Hoover was bred to be a show dog, but his big frame ended that career. Instead, he has focused on being a friend to all. If an adopter is willing to stay in touch and even take Hoover for visits to his lifetime friend in assisted living, we are all for it.
Hoover at one point learned to sit down when traffic goes by, and he has proved his memory is sharp and reliable time and again. This boy is all about love, and if you’d like to share yours with him, please send us a message or fill out an adoption application.
